Need to replace your mailbox?
If your mailbox or mounting post is damaged or broken, it should be replaced as soon as possible. Replacement mailboxes should:
Be USPS approved letter boxes;
Mounted 41-45 inches from the ground, as measured from the bottom of the receptacle;
Front of box should be set back 6 - 8 inches from the edge of the road;
Posts should installed 18-24 inches in depth.
Post should be painted black or dark green (Pantone #343)
The standard mailbox in the Grayrock community is the Gibraltar Stanley Metal Extra Large and can be found locally at Cardinal Home Center, online at Amazon and other retailers, or at Lowe’s, for around $50
